Located next to Devonshire Green, Koutetsu is a sports club for for people to train karate in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. We energetically focus on the technical development of striking, breaking down movements into clear steps that ultimately improve body autonomy and strong technique in the long term.
We practise Shotokan karate, one of the most popular styles of karate. The club is associated with the JKA (Japan Karate Association). You can find out more here: www.jka.or.jp/en/
We train in a purpose built dojo with matts, changing facilities and free car parking.
As of 02/01/2025, the club is closed to new members. Please email to register your interest about future open sessions.
The training times are:
Monday - 8pm - 9pm
Thursday - 8pm - 9pm
Sunday - 6pm - 7pm
Costs for training are: £5 (£3 concession) pay as you go or £30 (£25 concession) for the entire month. The first session is free.
